Samsung's new Australian retail store has come under scrutiny after claims it bears striking resemblance to Apple designed outlets.
The South Korean company is again under media spotlight after opening the new 'Samsung Experience Store' located in Sydney's George Street.
Only one block away from Apple's own store, Australian newspaper The Sydney Morning Herald has questioned the company's motives, branding the shop 'uncannily Apple-esque.'
Author of the article Asher Moses noted features of the new store to include a glass entrance, employees in blue shirts and minimalist tables showing Samsung's smartphones, tablets and computers, saying Samsung 'is doing little to dispel the notion that it is an Apple copycat.'
Unveiled at 8am yesterday, Samsung Australia's vice-president of telecommunications Tyler McGee said Apple "didn't even come into the equation when we were looking for a location [for the store]."
"Well, if you look at our layout this is the layout that we use around the world and it's about basically giving the consumers the opportunity to interact, learn and play with our devices," he says.
The opening will further fuel Apple's claims that the company is copying their designs, as the jury continues to deliberate their lawsuit claims in California.
